This is the time, of course, we're focusing on spiritual renewal through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Now a key aspect of Lenten devotion in the Catholic church, of course, is penance to acknowledge our sin, our shortcoming, and to seek reconciliation through confession. It's also a great time to try to spend more time reading scripture or some of the writings of the saints. Let's all commit to growing spiritually as we enter the second half of Lent on our journey to Easter. Now helping those in need is part of our Lenten practices, And here's a way for you to actually change lives with just a little spare change.
Our baby bottle drive is the way to do it. So this weekend, March, you can take a bottle home from mass after mass. Take a bottle home, fill it up with your change, and then you return it next weekend. That'll be April 5 and April 6. The Women's Guild is gonna be hosting their next meeting on Wednesday, April 9, '9 '30 AM in the parish hall.
Amy Baxter, a physical therapist from Holy Cross Hospital, will be here to give a presentation on balance and aging. Save the date because our men's club Linton fish fry is coming up. That's Friday, April 11, '6 PM in the parish hall. Our annual fish fry, cosponsored by the women's guild and the men's club. You can enjoy a plate of fish, hush puppies, and coleslaw.
We're gonna have beer and wine available, and presale tickets can be purchased the weekend of April 5 and April 6. There's gonna be no school of spirituality until May 5. We're on a break here during Lent. We'll be back the first Monday in May.
As we continue to journey through Lent, let us take time to reflect on our lives and examine our hearts. Let us ask God to reveal to us any areas where we need to repent and seek forgiveness. Let us also seek to grow in virtue and live out our faith more fully.
